X-Linked Dominant

A pattern of inheritance in which an affected individual has one copy of a mutated gene and one normal copy of a gene on the X-chromosome. For X-X engendered females, the rules of X-Linked dominant inheritance are the same as autosomal recessive inheritance. For X-Y engendered males, because they have only one X-chromosome, their one and only copy of the associated gene has a mutation and they will pass this onto each of their daughters, but none of their sons.
