Electrodiagnostic
Study

An electrodiagnostic study measures the electrical activity in nerves and muscles. An electrodiagnostic study typically consists of two test types: EMG and NCS.

Often performed together in CMT, an EMG measures electrical activity within a muscle during movement, and NCS measures a nerve’s ability to transmit a signal.
